In the ever-evolving landscape of environmental and water remediation, the search for high efficiency, environmentally friendly, and low-cost filtration media have been relentless. MFNS Tech takes immense pride in introducing our latest product, OHM Media, an innovative and groundbreaking solution to clean-up oil-contaminated industrial wastewater. OHM Media shows amazing results when used in an adsorption column to purify oil-water mixtures.
To reinforce and expand on our previous promising results, MFNS Tech conducted thorough testing of OHM Media as a filtration media. Under controlled conditions, OHM Media was subjected to a series of oil water emulsions of varying oil concentrations; and traditional filtration media were concurrently evaluated for comparative analysis. The results say it all–when compared to other currently-existing options such as activated carbon, walnut shell, and organoclay, OHM Media has emerged as the unequivocal champion, exhibiting unparalleled adsorption capacities and removal efficiency.
OHM Media's performance shone brightly, consistently demonstrating an exceptional oil removal capacity of approximately 99% or higher in all trials. This resulted in an output of remarkably clear water, signifying the successful separation and removal of oil from the emulsions. In contrast, the competing adsorbents exhibited lackluster performance, or inconsistency across the different starting concentrations.
When normalized by weight, OHM Media once again showed significantly higher adsorption capacity.
Furthermore, OHM Media also significantly beats them in terms of cost.
OHM Media's outstanding adsorption properties hold the potential for a vast variety of applications across various industries. Primarily, its efficiency in cleaning oil-water emulsions can be harnessed in wastewater treatment facilities, oil refineries, and other industrial plants to mitigate oil-pollution. It can also be applied in wastewater polishing; and it can be especially useful in industries where oil must be removed from waste streams before discharge, such as in fracking water and food processing facilities. Furthermore, OHM Media's selective adsorption characteristics potentially opens avenues in other fields like pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
