Coral Co-Founder and CTO Vikas Nandwana Presents Circular Water Technology at ACS Fall 2026
Coral Co-Founder and CTO Vikas Nandwana Presents Circular Water Technology at ACS Fall 2026. Coral Innovations was honored to be selected for the Start-Up Showcase at the “Advancing a Circular Water Economy” symposium during ACS Fall 2026. The event was held on August 25 at McCormick Place in Chicago and brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and water professionals working to advance water reuse and resource recovery.
The symposium was organized and funded by the NSF Great Lakes RENEW Engine, led by Current, in collaboration with the American Chemical Society. The program explored critical-mineral recovery, nutrient and carbon recovery, emerging contaminants, water-treatment materials, water reuse, and the partnerships needed to move new technologies into practice.
Representing Coral Innovations, Co-Founder and CTO Dr. Vikas Nandwana presented the company’s reusable, nanotechnology-based platform for removing oil, heavy metals, nutrients, and other contaminants from water. Coral’s solutions are designed to help industrial customers meet regulatory discharge limits, reduce treatment costs, and recover valuable resources from wastewater.
The presentation highlighted Coral’s progress in translating materials-science research into scalable products for real-world water-treatment applications. The showcase also provided an opportunity to connect with potential customers, pilot partners, researchers, and other members of the water-innovation community.
“It was great to be back at ACS—this time not as a research scholar, but as an entrepreneur,” said Dr. Nandwana. “I was grateful for the opportunity to share Coral’s journey and discuss how reusable materials can help move water treatment toward a more circular model.”
Coral Innovations thanks Current, the NSF Great Lakes RENEW Engine, and ACS for selecting Coral to participate and for organizing the symposium. Special thanks to Mallory and Jonathan Goodell for the invitation, coordination, and warm welcome.
We look forward to continuing the conversations and collaborations that began at ACS Fall 2026.
