Remove Heavy Oil and Light Sheen

Coral Innovations provides specialized sponge media for different types of oil contamination.

Coralyte™ Oils captures light oils, hydrocarbons, and visible surface sheen that can remain after conventional separation.

OleoSorb® targets heavier oils and allows the captured oil to be removed from the media through compression.

The media can treat stormwater containing anything from a thin surface sheen to more concentrated oil contamination. Water passes through the media while the oil is captured and retained.

A single tote can absorb and recover more than 340 pounds of oil before the media requires servicing or regeneration.

Traditional oily-water management often relies on hauling the entire volume of water away because of a relatively small amount of oil.

Simple Tote or Mobile Trailer Systems

Coral Innovations systems can be deployed as stand-alone filtration totes or as complete mobile treatment units.

A basic installation can include a pump, bag filter, Coralyte media tote, hoses, and discharge connections. The bag filter removes larger suspended material before the water enters the oil-capture media.

For facilities with several treatment locations, the equipment can be mounted on a portable trailer. One system can then move between containment areas, facilities, well pads, or operating sites.

The modular design allows additional totes to be added when higher flow rates, longer treatment times, or multiple contaminants must be addressed.


More Than Oil Removal
